This little cutie flew ALL the way from Germany for her photo shoot!
Well .... okay, maybe she came to visit Grandma and Grandpa and just happened to squeeze in a little photo fun with me while she was visiting. Still, I felt pretty special getting to photograph little Miss "D!"
Enjoy the sneak peek!

Typically, when you hire a wedding photographer they'll offer a nifty package that includes your engagement session. AND .... since I don't (officially) shoot weddings I almost never get to shoot those fun engagement sessions!
Lucky for me, this stunning couple is getting married out-of-state so I got to take their engagement photos! Also, lucky for me, this is my BABY cousin and her fiance! Aren't they cute? I can't believe she's getting married! Seriously (excuse me while I have yet another geriatric moment), I'm pretty sure I changed a few of her diapers!
I had visions of warm summer evening photos but alas, it's winter - in Oregon. Our shoot was scheduled on a cold, wet, foggy January morning. I think we made the best of it and got some really fun shots!
Congrats to the happy couple! Enjoy your sneak peek!

This adorable family and I were able to capture a few rays of autumn sunshine last weekend!
It's hard for me to believe I photographed both of these little guys as newborns - and now look at them!
A very special thank you to the "R" family for being such amazing clients over the years!
Enjoy the sneak peek :-)

I wanted to take some time and remember a sweet little boy who made a big difference in the lives of so many.
Sam Sparks passed away one month ago today from complications of seizures and respiratory illness. Sam had cerebral palsy along with many other conditions. At just a few months shy of five years old Sam gave up his fight and returned home be with his twin sister Sydney, who passed away after just six weeks of life.
Sam's life, although not typical of a young child, was a full one! His amazing parents never let Sam's condition hold him back from anything! He was able to experience all the great things that little kids should experience - and then some!
I have been fortunate enough to photograph Sam since just hours after he was born premature - and even before that when his mommy was expecting he and his sister! I suppose I didn't realize it at the time, but he was making a big difference in my life all along. As I photographed Sam's funeral service a few weeks ago I was reminded of the time I've spent with Sam through a beautiful video tribute of his life. There on the screen were photo after photo that I had taken of Sam for his parents to have and cherish forever. I sat alone in the balcony of the church sobbing and feeling an overwhelming thankfulness for the gift I have been able to give this family .... and the gift they gave me in return. Being a part of Sam's life has changed me forever and I cannot thank him enough for that gift.
So today I remember Sam's life .........and I hug my babies just a little tighter.

If you are interested (and have a box of tissues on hand) in watching the video tribute of Sam's life, here is the link:
Also, if you would like to learn more about cerebral palsy or Sam's journey, you can visit his website. Sam's parents have started an organization called "Sparks of Hope" that will continue to bless the lives of those touched by cerebral palsy.

You must be thinking "THAT'S an odd title for a blog entry of a gorgeous high school senior girl isn't it?" Obviously, I'm talking about myself. You see, I knew this gorgeous girl when she was just born. I probably changed her diapers! And now I sound like the annoying aunt who rubs your head and says "I used to change your diapers!" I guess I'm a little more used to being on the receiving end of that statement. It's hard to believe that I am now the one who is able to SAY those highly annoying things!
Naturally this has me feeling a little bit old BUT, I couldn't be more impressed with the amazing young woman "A" has turned out to be! I had a really great time running around town with "A" and her mom giggling and snapping photos!
Enjoy the sneak peek!

Oh how the words that that famous Cyndi Lauper song bring back memories! I can just see myself parading through the house holding a hairbrush like a mic screaming every word at the top of my lungs - with girlfriend backup of course! ha ha ..... I digress .....
What a fun session this was! Three fabulous ladies and I trekked out to the barn for a little photo fun! We started with senior portraits for the very GORGEOUS 'L.'
Seriously, I think high school girls just keep getting more and more pretty! I sure don't remember looking this good at the same age!
I think 'L' was a little nervous about getting her photos done (can you believe she said she wasn't photogenic?) but I think she ended up having a great time .... I know I did! And pa-lease (said in my best cyndi lauper valley girl voice) - how much more photogenic can you get?

And then, just for fun, I shot some photos of the adorable Miss 'M' who is 'L's' older sister. We even shot some mommy/daughters photos - with a fun little twist :-)

Thanks for a fun evening ladies .... enjoy the sneak peek!

I find that every session has at least one moment I call a "magical moment." It's that moment when everything fits together perfectly. The light is right, the scenery is beautiful and the people forget to pose .... and just let their personalities shine naturally.
I've been photographing the "H" family for several years and this year's family session had the most "magical moments" yet! I love so many of the photos we captured this day!
Enjoy the sneak peek!

A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to photograph another beautiful custom built home. I was so impressed by the detail and thought that went into the design of this home. There is so much storage - not a single square foot of wasted in space in this house! Equally impressive were all of the unique ceiling treatments, niches and lighting. Don't even get me started on the beautiful landscaping!
I'm really enjoying this new segment of my business! If you are a builder, architect or interior designer and are interested in adding professional photographs of your work to your portfolio, please inquire for details!
Have a great Sunday evening everyone ......
