Another attempt to capture a time in my own child's life. I wish I could do it more often but I have to be honest and tell you all that it's easier photographing other people's kids. My own seem to bore of me very quickly!

I took my son out while his big sister was in school and we did some "exploring." I just HAPPENED to take along my camera for a few snaps (wink, wink).

It's hard to believe my baby is four!

Another beautiful Senior stepped in front of my camera today! Just look at those eyes!

"H" and her friend, HILARIOUS "D," joined me for some fun around Portland today. I only lost them once in traffic - which was lucky considering that the entire city was out enjoying the beautiful summer-like weather we had today!

"H" was all smiles....and can you blame her with a smile like that?

It's just not fair for one person to be SO photogenic! Amazing isn't she?

PHEW! It was a BUSY day ..... two location sessions in one day. I left my house at 9am this morning and didn't return home until 9pm! I'm definitely ready for a good night of sleep and a lazy day tomorrow!

But before I head to bed I just HAVE to share a few images from the day's sessions!

First up is this sweet little baby girl, Joie (like joey). I never share names on the blog but mom gave me special permission to share her new daughter's name because I think it is absolutely A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E! I always wanted a COOL name when I was a kid.....Joie would have been good, I love it!

She was such a good little girl for me today! What an honor it is to capture this momentous time in this new family's lives! Enjoy the sneak peek!

Have I mentioned lately how much I LOVE what I do? Seriously. I have such a unique opportunity to connect with each person I photograph. It takes some trust and vulnerability to allow someone to take your portrait. I am privileged that my clients invite me "in" and allow me to capture their spirit!

I hope that our time together left "A" feeling like the beautiful and special young woman that she is!

Today I was lucky enough to photograph two of my favorite little models!

I think of them as my nephews although they are actually my cousins.....I know, right?

I try to photograph these handsome little guys at least once per year. Usually time gets away from their mom and I and we end up cramming in a late session in the cold! NOT THIS YEAR! I made it my mission to get their session in early before the weather turns....and what a beautiful day we had! The light was gorgeous!

"I" and "S" were so well behaved and great little posers (you would think they have a photographer in the family or something)!

I was so excited when "W" broke out the long board! I've been wanting to incorporate some sort of skateboard in a session for a long time now!

"M' is a girl with some STYLE! I just love the bright colored clothes she brought for the session!

I adore "W's" expression in this shot ...... what a handsome and talented young man he is!

Most seniors (especially the boys) take some time to warm up to me and my HUGE camera in their face. Not this guy. He had such a calm and comfortable presence from the start! We immediately hit it off and I quite enjoyed our conversations as we cruised around grabbing our shots. I am amazed at how talented and multi-faceted this guy is!

The instant I took this shot I told "A" that it was THE ONE! At some point during every session I get the shot that I know will be my favorite. I just love this one!

This is the beautiful and oh-so-sweet little Miss "I" whom I had the pleasure of photographing yesterday.

She was a light sleeper for most of the session but fell into a deep sleep just as we were wrapping up. Thank goodness she did because she gave me this shot....which I LOVE!

Here is another shot I just love from "I's" session. At just about two weeks old, babies aren't nearly as flexible as they are at 5 or 6 days but I managed to get a nice "curl" out of her (with a little help from grandma). How cute are those toes?

The lovely Miss "B" once again ........

Yesterday was SO MUCH FUN for me! I got to photograph the most beautiful baby girl! She was such a delight to work with! She slept well, was easy to soothe and the camera loves her! (who wouldn't?)

I probably over-stayed my welcome because I was having so much fun with this little one but I seriously could have stayed longer! Even after I got home last night my head kept thinking of more images I would love to get ..... it's an illness, I can't help it :-)

This is an image I've had in my head for awhile now. My grandmother gave me this antique cradle and I painted it white a few weeks ago. B's Daddy found this lovely little patch of Queen-Anne's-Lace for the perfect shot!
